The Passage – Repairs and Completion
The Passage is the largest public art project celebrating Cherokee history and culture. The artwork seen on the walls of the Passage were created by Team Gadugi, a group of five Cherokee artists from Oklahoma.
The city inspector had noticed cracks in the concrete and the electrical continued to have problems. The walls and foundations were failing. P&C Construction was given the task to renovate the existing Passage and fix all of the issues.
This project posed many challenges. Everything needed to be properly documented for the city. The walls and foundations were ripped out and re-poured. All of the lighting was rewired throughout the wall with light fixtures. The water feature was redesigned and pumps water to flow down the stairs as a refreshing cool down for the tourists.
